In every study unit of JAMK functions a study field student association as an independent organization, whose main activities are trusteeship work, membership services and creating and upholding the student culture.
Whereas JAMKO represents all of the students of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, the study field student associations represent a specific study field. These organizations supervise the interests of their members in the departments by organizing feedback days or conversations together with the units and study field teams. The organizations conduct surveys among the students and pass the gathered information forward, comment on noticed flaws straight to the parties involved. All this happens by passing information about the study related matters and study environment flaws directly to the student union and participating actively in the trusteeship team of the student union.
A well run study field student association meets regularly with the heads of the departments and the staff responsible for studies as well as by focusing on a constructive relationship between the other supportive functions of the departments such as study services and janitor services. In addition the study field student associations keep closely in touch with each other and JAMKO.
