JAMKO's own student benefits
JAMKO Café
- JAMKO Café at Main Campus gives 10 % discount of all cafeteria products with the JAMKO membership card. Student priced coffees, teas and hot chocolates can be acquired with a prepaid coffee/tea/cocoa pass.
- Members can reserve the café for private events outside opening hours.

Sport services
- Members are welcome to use JAMKO gym for free. A valid student card must be kept at hand while training. Gym locates at the Main Campus, D-wing’s basement floor. Check out more information.

JAMKO’s events are always produced with the members in mind, so with a valid JAMKO card, you’ll receive cheaper tickets and other perks. See our events.

- The physical student card functions also as a library card in the JAMK library.
- You have the right to stand as a candidate and to vote in JAMKO Representatives’ Elections and have the possibility to work as an active JAMKO member.

supervising members' interest
The JAMKO student union supervises the interests of its members at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in accordance with the law.
We influence JAMK’s institutions and working groups, we cooperate with the city of Jyväskylä in matters related to students and we bring the voice of students to be heard in municipal decision-making. Monitoring the rights of students and supporting them in situations of conflict is an integral part of the work of the student union. Big things are easier to solve through the student union. JAMKO’s Board and the advisors support e.g. in the following matters.
- Questions about the quality of education and the organization of teaching.
- Conflict situations e.g. with teachers.
- Questions about the accessibility and accessibility of the university.
- Disadvantages related to equality and non-discrimination.
- Taking diversity into account and developing it at JAMK.
As a member, you can influence how work is done and what kind of things the student body promotes.

Student lunch
A warm meal during weekdays in a student restaurant costs 2.60-4.50 € depending on the chosen meal. In the student restaurants the government support per meal is 2,30 € With a student card you are entitled to a student priced lunch in every higher education facility. Many restaurants around the city have special prices and offers for students with a student card. Remember to keep your student card at hand and ask.
TRANSPORTATION AND TRAVELING
The green “Linkki” busses are the local transportation in Jyväskylä. Over 25 year old full time students are granted discounts from ticket products when acquired beforehand. The discount is not given from the individual single tickets bought from the busses. Student priced ticket products be bought from the following places:

National railway VR
You can get a student discount on train tickets for long-distance traffic and VR’s commuter traffic when you have a student card entitling you to a discount. NB: You must have the valid membership sticker on you card in order to get the discount.

With the JAMKO student you can book a sauna in the center of Jyväskylä for 8,50€ (normal price 10€). In addition, as a JAMKO member, you can rent a towel free of charge (normal price 3€.)
