Become a mentor

Mentoring, a sector of tutoring, continues at JAMK as a collaboration between JAMKO and JAMK in the fall 2015. Mentors are students who have been trained to work as peer supporters when the studies have continued from the first year. Mentors help their fellow students with their own experiences and knowledge gained from the trainings. Mentoring is a 3 ECTS credits elective studies study module. The recruitment for the study module starts on 2nd of September and ends on 16th of September. To apply to the study module one must have completed on of the earlier tutoring study modules (Vertaistutorointi, Degree Student Tutoring, International Tutoring). The Mentoring study module is organized both in English and in Finnish. The purpose of the study module is to deepen the abilities the tutors have about interacting and leading a group. The goal is that student understands JAMK’s guidance and support systems and knows how to guide people towards it. The plan is that mentoring takes its place in JAMK’s guidance system and becomes a yearly organized study module.
