Student Well-being Week
October brings a fresh autumn breeze and also Student Wellbeing Week by JAMKO! This special week is dedicated to your well-being – physical, mental and social.
What? Wellbeing Week offers a varied programme of activities designed to support and promote student wellbeing. You can check the programme from down below!
When and where? Wellbeing Week will take place from 7th to 11th of October, with more specific locations mentioned below.
Why? Wellbeing Week is the perfect opportunity to take a moment for yourself and invest in your own wellbeing. Our events offer you the chance to learn new skills, relax and make new friends. Wellbeing is the key to a successful student life, so come along and find your own way to feel better!
Relaxation Station at Rajakatu campus
A tough week ahead? Need a short break in the middle of studying? Don’t worry, during the wellbeing week between 10 am and 1 pm you have the opportunity to take a break in a quiet room while taking a nap or just relaxing for a while. The room is FK07, which located on the Rajakatu campus.
Blood donation campaign
During the wellbeing week, a blood donation campaign is underway with the Red Cross Blood Service, during which students can donate blood at the Kolmikulma unit throughout the week using JAMKO’s donor group. You must book an appointment at the clinic before going there on the Blood Services website.
Mental Health Walk, Tuesday 8.10. at 12-13
Take a short walk near the Rajakatu campus with other students and Jamk’s student priest Johanna. During the mental health walk we will stop occasionally to do exercises to promote our own mental wellbeing and the participants will have the opportunity to discuss the topics if they wish. Those leaving for the walk, will meet at the main doors of the Rajakatu campus at 12 noon.
All you need is the right equipment for the weather. In case of heavy rain, the walk will take place indoors on the Rajakatu campus. The event is free of charge.
Breakfast together at Juvenes, Wednesday 9.10. at 8:30-9:30
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and Juvenes serves it daily at both restaurants; Curve restaurant on Rajakatu and Cube restaurant at Dynamo. In celebration of Wellbeing Week Juvenes has developed more than just the traditional porridge breakfast! Come and start the morning with a shared breakfast moment, which you can spend alone or with other participants.
JAMKO will offer breakfast for the first JAMKO members arriving at the breakfast between 8:30-9:30 am. No pre-registration required.
Tortilla and board game evening, Thursday 10.10. at 16-18
On Thursday of the Wellbeing Week, enjoy board games and tortillas at JAMKO Café. Grab your own board game or come and see what we have to offer. JAMKO mentors will also be there. The event is free. No pre-registration required. Please note that food will be served to the first 50 participants.
