JAMKO offers free lunch to 1000 students

Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences’ student union JAMKO is offering a free student lunch to 1000 members from Campus restaurant Semma’s distance sales points on Monday, April 6th onwards. JAMKO wants to provide students with a varied and healthy lunch even during the emergency situation. 

“For many, the school meal is the only hot food of the day and currently, for example, there is no Kela-supported lunch on JAMK’s campuses. We are concerned that students working remotely, rely to quick and unhealthy solutions, which is reflected in their resilience and capability to study. Food plays a pretty big role in a student’s monthly budget and at the moment the income of many is really tight.” says Antti Paunonen, Chairman of the Board of JAMKO.

The campus restaurant Semma sells varied home-cooked food in pre-packaged portions at seven different distance points of sale on weekdays. To receive the lunch offered by JAMKO, mention that you are a member of JAMKO and show your student card. You can use either your physical or electronic student card, most important is that the current season membership has been acquired.

Semma Campus Restaurants sells single packed meals of diverse home made food in seven locations from Monday to Friday. The menu offering varies daily and there are both meat and vegetarian options available. The meal includes the main course, salad, bread and milk. You can find the menu of the day from Semma’s Facebook page or Instagram Stories.

You can pick up meal offered by JAMKO from one of the following locations:

• Mannila, the new parking yard behind Mankola school at 10:30-11:00
• KOAS Harju, Kauppakatu 11 b at 10:30-11:00
• Haukkalanranta, Kiviniementie 8 at 11:30-12:00
• KOAS Kotiraide & Ratapiha at 11:30-12:00
• KOAS Humppa, Humppakuja 2 (behind the building) at 12:30-13:00
• AaltoAlvari parking yard, Pitkäkatu 2 at 13:00-13:30
• Myllyjärvi, parking yard of Loukkukorventie at 14:00-14:30

Please note that the schedule may change. Semma asks you to check the most recent schedule from their social media channels (@semmarestaurants). You will recognize Semma Delivery from their black van and Semma – logo. At AaltoAlvari the distribution is done from the black Semma tent.
