Mentoring

Mentors to support tutors

Mentoring is a natural next step for every JAMKO tutor who found it an enjoyable experience and a desire to develop further in the field of peer tutoring.

The role of JAMKO mentors is to assist JAMKO tutors. Mentors will be able to share their own tutoring experience, actively support tutors and play an integral role in the development of JAMKO’s guidance and well-being services. Mentors will have the opportunity to deepen their guidance skills through training in areas such as active listening, emotional skills and well-being services.

One concrete support offered by mentors to tutors are guidange meetings, where tutors can discuss the challenges of tutoring with the help of mentors and go through their thoughts and feelings, for example about the orientation week. Mentors themselves may also help during the orientation week in study fields where there isn’t their own tutors.

In addition, mentors can, if they wish, assist tutors in planning events and participate in student community events as a mentor. You can see mentors for example in Jamk’s HyPe-coffee!
