Jyväskylä’s student Vappu is officially launched in Kirkkopuisto with the Vappu Kickstart! The park area will be filled with good music, various yard activities and a Vappu atmosphere on 22 April from 17-20. During the event, the official City of Jyväskylä Vappu announcement will be heard and for the first time ever, the most experienced students of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences will get to start a new tradition by ceremonially lifting up their overalls.
The event will include hanging out, music and many stalls and tents, including the JYY Simateltta (Mead tent) and the Sinebrychoff tent. You can also get your own Twister if you want! Lucky’s will also be present at the event, offering student-priced drinks for the thirsty next to the event area. This is a public event, so there will be no drinks on site or drinks for sale. So come and join us for an interdisciplinary May Day!
The event will continue in London from 22.00 onwards, and will be a continuation of the “Fishy Business” at Throwback!
Minna’s Journey
The Vappu Kickstart event is part of JAMKO, JYY and numerous other student organisations’ interdisciplinary May Day Minna’s Journey, where you can travel through student organisations’ events and collect stamps in your passport. The Minna’s Journey will take place from 16 April to 1 May, culminating in 750 first participants receiving an epic Minna Overall patch at the Harju May Day Picnic.
Pick-up times for the Appro passes
You can pick up your Appropasses at the JAMKO or JYY office during opening hours from 9.4.or at the stands.
Stand at the Dynamo on 11.4. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Stand at Rajakatu 14.4.12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
